COLUMBIA, Mo. – On Thursday NewsChannel 5 learned Mizzou wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham will not be charged after an alleged incident over the weekend.
Up until Thursday, details surrounding the incident were unclear, but NewsChannel 5 has obtained documents from the Columbia Police Department outlining what the investigating officers say happened.
The police report states Green-Beckham allegedly forced his way into a home in an attempt to find his girlfriend early Sunday morning. What followed in the report were details obtained from statements by victims to police and text messages between Green-Beckham’s girlfriend and her friend.
The text messages detail how the girlfriend tried to influence one of the victims to not press charges.
“I’m not sticking up for him but football really is all he has going for him and pressing charges would ruin it for him completely,” the girlfriend wrote to the friend.
The texts also detail alleged domestic abuse that may have occurred.
“I am too- he drug me out by my kneck [sic] and hurt me too,” the report says one text said.

The victims went to police Sunday evening to tell investigators they no longer wanted to press charges.
A domestic violence investigator contacted the girlfriend Sunday evening to ask her if she had ever been assaulted by Green-Beckham. The girlfriend told the investigator she was fine, not injured, and was not concerned for her safety.
On Monday Mizzou announced Green-Beckham had been suspended indefinitely from the football team for violating team policies.
Friday, Green-Beckham released a statement:
“First and most importantly, I take responsibly for my conduct and my mistakes. Don’t blame my girlfriend or her friends for anything. I am not looking for sympathy. I thank those who have given me concern. I have been young and dumb. I want to be better. During my suspension I’m entering counseling. With help, I know I can be stronger emotionally and spiritually. My relationship with God, my family, friends, teammates and coaches are most important in my life, not football. It may not be possible to fix everything, but it won’t be for not trying.”

This isn’t Green-Beckham’s first brush with the law. In October 2012 he was one of three freshman football players arrested for drug possession. The trio later pleaded guilty to second-degree trespassing.
On Jan. 10, 2014 Green-Beckham was riding in a car when it was pulled over for a traffic violation. An officer found one pound of marijuana inside the vehicle, but Green-Beckham denied knowing anything about the drugs. One of the men in the car with Green-Beckham admitted to owning the marijuana.
