I am a digital content writer at Monsanto Co., creating high-quality, shareable, and engaging content for the company’s digital properties, connecting the stories to Monsanto’s role in agriculture. I’m also an adjunct instructor at University of Missouri-St. Louis, teaching COMM 3370 – Social Media in Public Relations and COMM 1150 – Intro to Public Relations.
Previously, I worked as a digital news writer at KSDK-TV in St. Louis, and covered everything from the tragic Joplin tornado to the Boston Marathon bombings to the unrest in Ferguson. I published creative original stories, videos, and photos daily on KSDK.com. My work was published nationally online through USAToday.com and on the front page of the paper’s print edition. My work on the unrest in Ferguson was sourced on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show.”
In addition to storytelling, I incorporated social media content creation and management into my daily workflow, and built web-based promotions for NBC and KSDK programming.
In 2010 I started my career in the news industry with an internship at KSDK while finishing a communications degree from University of Missouri-St. Louis. I was working on a master’s in public relations at Webster University when KSDK hired me as a production assistant. Eight months later I was promoted to digital producer, and in 2012 I finished my master’s degree.
